So it beings...

Hello, welcome to the Pack to Charity blog. Pack to Charity is a project for the Gifts Given charity drive organized by Andy from Commandercast.com. The binder itself will be based on the pack to power concept where in you start with a single pack of magic cards and... you know what, here take a look at this --> Pack to Power Intro. The end goal of this project is to auction off the binder for the most value possible, with all proceeds benefiting Child's Play. Johnathan Madina set the tone but for this project we need to make some changes.

The Rules

[Only One Pack – The seed pack will be from the new set, Rise of the Eldrazi (Innistrad in our case). It will be random and sealed. I will open only one pack, no cherry picking the best pack.]

I tried my best to adhere to this, but the spirit of giving wouldn't allow it. As I was buying the pack, the store owner, John, threw in a free all-foil Shards of Alara block booster. Concept remains the same, just given a little boost.

[Trading - I must trade only the contents of the pack which is opened, or cards acquired through trading the contents of the pack. This means that I cannot use any other cards from my collection to aid me in my quest.]

This is one of the rules that I MUST stick to. It kind of invalidates the whole process if you just start jamming good cards in here and there to push things along.

[Documenting - I will record every trade and keep careful records of the entire journey.]

I will do my best to document the whole thing, but I am under the gun so forgive me if some of the trades don't get a photo.

[Spend No Money – The only money that I can spend is the money that I use to purchase the pack, or money that I obtained by selling cards that I have traded for in the process of Pack to Power.]

Seems fair. I am already the cost of the binder, the pack, my donation, the sleeves, and the sharpies into this bad boy; I hope I can lean a little on the community for the rest.

[Free Cards – I cannot accept free cards. I must trade for the cards that I get.]

The one rule I am flat out ignoring. While I would love to make sure every thing that made its way into the binder was via trade, this is for charity and I am not going to reject anyone's generosity. Every little bit helps and why beat around the bush by setting up some super lop sided donation trade every time someone wants to help?

[No Crushing Newbies - Trick made sure I knew I wasn't allowed to make unfair trades with new players without making them aware.]

I would hate to have any negative feeling associated with this binder. I explain the point of the binder to everyone I trade with and inform them of the value of each trade. I could try to be cunning but I want this binder to be a shinning example of the giving spirit of the magic community, not how good of a used car salesman I am.

So with the ground rules laid down lets get this show on the road. At time of posting I have already completed week one and am about to jump into week two. It's game day on Saturday so here is hoping to some excellent gains in the next 48 hours. Leaving you with some pics of the new born binder. Later!
